Coming Soon: New, Simpler, Content Management System
For those customers that need content management but want it on a budget, we are producing a slimmed down version of our content system. This system will have the ability to manage pages, manage documents, manage images, manage news items, and an optional visitor discussion board. The manage pages feature includes a WYSIWYG editor that has controls similar to MS Word.Silverlight and MS Expression
If you haven't seen Silverlight ... it's actually really neat. While it is not going to REVOLUTIONIZE web site development, it does have some interesting features that can be used to close the gaps left by traditional AJAX. We are going to start working with some web controls that use Silverlight. We actually like the concept of having a user-managable photo portfolio driven by Silverlight C# and SQL Server. Stay tuned.Spending the extra time to create tableless layouts
CSS and DIV tags have been the basis for accessibility arguments for years now ... but the more we learn about CSS the more practicle it becomes to move away from the old standard of using HTML tables to build the layout for web sites. Of course we still don't like the idea of passing extra research and development cost on DIVs down to the customer ... so we'll have to learn CSS efficiency on the fly ... because every design is a little different. This page is compliant!
